Presenting SHERWIN
(Madadkin's new alias)
MADADKIN has been working more and more in the genre of experimental and minimalist music and has now decided to create a new artist figure specialising in those areas.
This new artist is called SHERWIN, derived from Paul David Adkin's maternal surname.
The first two releases from SHERWIN were 8 POETAS and THE FOLD.
8 POETAS, released in October, 2023, is a musical collage created in collaboration with 8 poets , the poems themselves read by their own authors, SHERWIN creating the musical landscape to colour and dramatise the poetry.
THE FOLD came out in February 2024.
So, look out for SHERWIN.
NUMBER NINE
Yes, it looks like the Beatles' white album, and that is deliberate.
Number Nine pays homage to the album style that the Beatles' white symbolised. Irreverent, experimental and eclectic, the Beatles' white was far more than a pop-rock record.
Despite the whiteness, however, Number Nine is probably Madadkin's darkest work, with a number of songs focused on the terrible conflicts facing our times: war, global warming, and the rise of fascism.
